About Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him )

Part 1 -Up there in the Mountain

Part 2 -Gabriel and Muhammad (pbuh )
What Really Happened Up There?
Muhammad's dreams would come true as clear as the break of day.

How did Muhammad go from being a successful trader in Makkah to a prophet and recipient of a divine message? Why did he prefer to seclude himself for days...

Some people think of the first encounter between Prophet Muhammad and Angel Gabriel as the missing piece in the story of the revelation.

Some people think of the first encounter between Prophet Muhammad and Angel Gabriel in the Cave of Hira as the missing piece in the story of the revelation. Read the Prophet's own account of what really happened..

How Fasting Sets Higher Standards

Abu Hurairah reported that Prophet ( peace and blessing be upon him ) said :

Fasting is a shield. Let no one who is fasting commit any obscenity or foolishness. Should anyone engage him in a fight or slanging match, let him answer him by saying : I am fasting, I am fasting.
clipped from www.islamonline.net

It
is well known that fasting in the month of Ramadan is one of the
main duties Islam lays down for its followers. Some scholars
consider these duties as pillars on which the structure of Islam is
built. It is needless to say that fasting in Ramadan ranks on par
with Prayer and zakah in its importance as a main Islamic duty.
Indeed, it enjoys a special status, since it can only be fulfilled
through abstention, rather than through a direct or positive action.
For this reason, Allah is quoted by the Prophet (peace and blessings
be upon him) as saying in a hadith qudsi, “Everything a
human being does is his, with the exception of fasting, which
belongs to me and I reward it accordingly
” (Al-Bukhari). This
is due to the fact that there are no apparent signs which indicate
that a person is fasting.

The Prophet's Forgiveness of His Enemies

A Virtue to Win Hearts

Anas, a close Companion of Prophet Muhammad ( peace and blessings be upon him ) reported, '' A Jewish woman brought a poisoned lamb to the Prophet, and he ate of it. When the woman was brought to him, people suggested, 'Shall we kill her?' The Prophet said, ' No'. I have recognized the effect of that poisoning in the Prophet's throat ever since." ( Al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, Ahmad, and others ).

Following the Prophet's example in any situation is to make sure of choosing the right course of action. Some people may think that this applies to matters of religion only. In Islam there is no differentiation between religious and ''worldly" matters. Everything in people's lives is evaluated from the Islamic viewpoint. Hence the Prophet's example provides guidance to us in all spheres of life.

It is needless to say that this applies, in perhaps greater measure, to social behavior and relations with other people. It is important to study how the Prophet treated other people in a comprehensive range of situations in order to understand the Islamic approach to social relations. Here, we are giving a few brief notes on one characteristic that manifested itself in the Prophet's behavior in a variety of situations. That characteristic is forgiveness of one's enemies.

Perhaps the description '' a personal enemy " cannot be attached more appropriately than to one who tries to kill someone. When the attempt is the result of careful plotting, then the hostility is deeply rooted. During his life, the Prophet had many enemies who plotted against his life. One such attempt took place soon after the Prophet won the battle of Khaibar that he fought against the Jews of Madinah, resulting in the destruction of the Jewish military power in Arabia. Khaibar fell to the Prophet after a long siege culminating in a fierce fighting to win several of the many forts of which this Jewish stronghold consisted.

In order to appreciate the significance of the story quoted in the hadith at hand, we have to remember that the Prophet was the head of the Islamic state, in addition to his being a Prophet and messenger of Allah to all humankind.

When that woman contemplated her attempt, she must have realized that if she were to be successful, she would have avenged the defeat of her people. She was certain that the Prophet accepted any gift given to him and always tried to please the person who gave him a gift by eating from it if it was food or using it if it was something to be used. Moreover, she realized that the Prophet would not be the only one to eat of that lamb. Any of his Companions who would be attending with him would be invited to join him in his meal. Quite a number of them, probably some of the leading figures, would die with him. That could very well have been the outcome of her attempt. Indeed one of them, Bishr ibn Al-Baraa' was the first to eat. The Prophet himself ate one or two bites. He immediately signaled his Companions to stop. He told them, "Do not touch it. One of its organs is telling me that it is poisoned." Bishr ibn Al-Baraa' soon died.

Never, Never, Never Waste..........

Let's read what my Kakak Angkat says
Carroll Pellegrinelli

While I was getting ready to make a cheesecake the other night, my daughter had just finished baking a cookie pizza. As I was removing it from the oven, the cookie, and the parchment paper it was sitting on, slipped off the baking sheet and onto the stove. Needless to say, we had one big cookie crumb mess. Instead of just throwing the cookie mess away, I asked my daughter if I could use it as the cheesecake crust. Since the cookie was still warm and pliable, I could have quickly and easily pressed it into the 9x13 pan I was planning to use with the cheeecake. My daughter wouldn't hear of it. Her idea of a perfect cheesecake is a plain one with a graham cracker crust. Needless to say, the cheesecake I made had a graham cracker crust. I was also able to help her make another pizza cookie with plenty of time still left for her to decorate it. Enjoy these cheesecake links.

Is Tarawih Mandatory on Woman

Name of Questioner : Hiba - Alaska
Question : Dear scholars, As-salamu 'Alaykum. Is Tarawih mandatory on women? Is it a confirmed Sunnah? Can you please shed some light on this issue for women who can't go to the mosque for some reasons? Must they perform Tarawih as compulsory prayer, or is it nafl (supereragatory )? Jazakum Allah khayran.

Wa 'alaykum As-Salamu Wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessing be upon His Messenger.

Dear questioner, we would like to thank you for the confidence you place in us, and we implore Allah Almighty to help us serve His cause and render our work for His Sake.

Ramadan is the month of the Qur'an, fasting, and qiayam (staying in late night vigilance praying ). Ramadan comes to Muslim with mercy, release from sins, patience, and spiritual nourishment and hygiene. Fasting in Ramadan is not a punishment but a way to perfect our behaviour, to sharpen our sense of responsibility, and to be more united.

In his response to the question, Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, a seniour lecturer and Islamic scholar aty yhe Islamic Institute of Toronto,Ontario, Canada, states:
clipped from www.islamonline.net
According to the consensus of Muslim scholars, Tarawih is not considered mandatory on either men or women. Rather, it is only considered a recommended act. There is no evidence in the sources to make it obligatory. As far as I know, no jurist or imam has expressed such an opinion.

Tarawih can be performed individually at home or at the mosque. If for some reason you cannot go to the mosque, you can pray Tarawih at home.

We know from the traditions that the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and other companions often used to pray Tarawih at home. Some of them even opened the Qur'an and read from it while performing Tarawih.
Tarawih prayer is a Sunnah and to do it in a Mosque is also a Sunnah.

Women and even children should attend it at the Mosque because it displays the unity among Muslims and cements their relationships.

The Importance of Giving in Ramadan

Fasting from sunrise to sunset not only teaches us to control our unruly bodies, making them aware that we control them rather than the other way around, but it is also helps us to think of others who are less fortunate than ourselves, and it teaches us to give thanks to Allah for all the blessings we have that we so often take for granted.

When the Adhan calls each day for the Sunset Prayer, telling us all that the day's fast is over, there are many in the world whose fast will not end. In fact , many thousands will starve to death because they have no food.

clipped from www.islamonline.net

Muslims fast because Almighty Allah has commanded them to do so. In the Qur'an, we read,[O you who believe, fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may (learn) self-restraint.]Al-Baqarah 2:183

Those who are not Muslim could not possibly imagine the joy that Muslims feel as Ramadan approaches. If you have ever been to the cinema, for example, and seen a really good film, you know just how difficult it is to describe how good the film was to someone who has not seen it. Talking about Ramadan is a bit like that. No amount of words can describe how important Ramadan is or the blessings and the benefits we, as Muslims, take from it. No words can describe how good it feels to complete a day's fast or the joy and the feeling of festivity when the day's fasting is over.
As Muslims, we fast for the sake of Allah. Even amid the feasting and the celebrating, we should never forget this.

Already many days of this blessed month has left us. The disquiet in our souls starts its tremors as you realize that during these days you are doing something different. How different though is something only we can answer ourselves in our moments of solitude. We are ever so careful to protect the things we have accumulated-clothing, books, houses, cars, technology but that which is most priceless, seems to have slipped from our grasp.
The heart, is like a rose bud so treat it well, care for it, fertilize it, give it the benefit of the sun's warmth and the nurturing of water and it will blossom and bring with it a sweet fragrance. When we leave it alone, it can become overwhelmed by weeds, losing the light of sun and benefit of water and it may be attacked by disease, then it begins to die or if it blooms, it is not the true beauty it could have been.

Pertanyaan 35; Apabila dibacakan Al Qur'an, apakah pahalanya sampai kepada si mayyit?

Idul Fithri Yang Dinanti

Oleh : Syaikh Ali bin Hasan bin Ali A
Dan bentuk jamaknya : a’yaad.
Sunnahnya mandi sebelum sholat Id

Sunnah Nabi 10 Malam Terakhir

(Qs. Al Baqarah:187)

Disertai hadist-hadist shahih tentang I’tikaf Nabi shalallahu ‘alaihi wasallam.

Fasting In Islam
Fasting during the month of Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam which is of paramount significance. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Islam is built upon five pillars: testifying that there is no god except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, performing Prayer, paying the Zakah, making the pilgrimage to the Sacred House (Hajj), and fasting the month of Ramadan." Doa Dari Hadis Sohih : Khusus Elak Di Rogol Dan Cabul

Justeru, jika berbaju kebaya terbelah, baju sendat menampakkan susuk tubuh, berpakaian nipis seolah telanjang, bersolek canggih seperti artis bukan Islam..sudah tentu doa ini sahaja belum cukup mampu menjaga anda. Bukan kerana Allah s.w.t tidak mampu, tetapi Allah s.w.t tidak anggap wanita itu layak dek kerana kedegilannya sendiri.
Fikirkanlah.

Doa Dari Hadis Sohih : Khusus Elak Di Rogol Dan Cabul

Dalam sebutan rumi : ALLAHUMMA IN KUNTA TA'LAMU INNI AAMANTU BIKA, WA BIRASULIKA WA AHSONTU FAR JI ILLA 'ALA ZAWJI FALA TUSALLIT 'ALAYYA AL-KAFIR WA AZ-ZALIM
